Featured in Midtown Magazine & Cottages & Bungalows, this remodel project will steal your heart with elevated, French Country charm. This client contacted us to remodel the first floor of their dark, dated home. They weren’t satisfied with the existing storage (or lack thereof), or the dreary cooking area, and the home felt as though it was weighing them down. We wanted to create a light, airy feel with plenty of fluid elegance. We set out to remove excess dividers and open the space. We removed the cabinetry, replacing it with creamy cabinets that extend to the ceiling for a refined look with rustic charm and ample versatility. Not to mention, plenty of storage! Tailored to how they like to live (they love cooking), we ensured no detail was spared as we designed a home for modern sensibility, mirroring their daily rhythms and lifestyle. A focal point in the kitchen is the Roquefort colored La Cornué range surrounded by intricate Venetian plaster. It sets the tone and layers both history and art into the design. Large, open spaces welcome togetherness and connection, cushy sofas with durable fabrics invite hours of conversation, and intentional details share their story and memories as they create new ones every day. Our craftsman and artisans collaborated closely with the CBID team on this texture-rich home and its many intricate features.
